This is the first national park in India, having been created in 1936. It bears the name Jim Corbett in honor of the renowned naturalist and conservationist. The stunning Jim Corbett National Park, which lies in the foothills of the Himalayas close to the well-liked hill town of Nainital, is well-known for having the greatest concentration of tigers of any Indian national park.

The park spans 1318.54 sq km, of which 520 sq km is the primary area and the remaining area is a buffer. Pauri Garhwal, Almora, and Nainital are all beautiful places to see. A must-do activity is the jeep safari into the dense forest to view the exotic animals in their native setting. And if fortune favors you, you might even catch a glimpse of a tiger. Savor the views of the verdant woodland traversed by rivers, streams, and a few waterfalls while on the jeep safari. There are also overnight lodgings offered inside the park that will give you an experience of a lifetime.

The Corbett Museum

If you stay at a luxury resort in Corbett like Kunkhet Valley make sure to visit Jim Corbett’s former home, a heritage bungalow constructed in 1922, if you’d want to learn more about the hunter-turned-naturalist. Situated approximately 25 miles from Ramnagar in Kaladhungi, it is presently a museum that holds a number of his personal items, including firearms.

The Corbett Waterfall

The Corbett Falls, a picturesque picnic location around 25 kilometers from Ramnagar, is a great place to take a cool break. Corbett Falls is tucked away amid a thick forest, accessible through an ornate gate. You can drive up to the falls or walk there; they are located approximately 2 km from the entrance. The 20-foot waterfall is surrounded by an enclosed forested area where the rainforest is untamed and tranquil. From July to September, during the monsoon, the park is closed.
