Jim Corbett National Park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. It is the oldest Indian National Park. Its aim was to protect the Bengal tiger. In 1950 its was rechristened as Ramganga National Park. In 1956 it was again renamed to Jim Corbett National park to honour the hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett. Safari Zones in Jim Corbett National park

Dhikala zone– This is one of the best tiger safari zones out of all. This is the largest zone in the Jim Corbett National Park Ramnagar. It is situated on the outskirts of the Patil Dun valley.
